We're spoiled in Steamboat Springs to see wildlife in almost all directions. Whether a small fox jogging down the Yampa River Core Trail or a giant bull moose off the Spring Creek Trail, animals in their natural habitat are common place around here.

But seldom do we see a large herd of elk brazingly holding up traffic along the highway, as was the case on this day. I'm just glad I had my mobile phone handy to take this video. Check out how the herd is corraled by the larger bull elk on both ends of the group.
